Have no sense of humour.

American news network CNN has banned a guest for life after he “demeaned” a fellow panellist during a live television debate.

Conservative political commentator Ryan Girdusky was removed from a newsnight panel on Monday night after he told Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan: “I hope your bleeper doesn’t go off.”

Obviously, CNN has rules when it comes to off colour jokes. Maybe he should try the BBC. After all, you can say that Nigel Farage should have acid thrown over him with impunity because that is funny apparently. Actually, the beeper remark is funny.

In a post on X after the broadcast, Girdusky appeared to stand by the comments he made and wrote: “Apparently you can’t go on CNN if you make a joke. I’m glad America gets to see what CNN stands for.”

CNN appears to offer the same double standards as the BBC after all.

  1. You can’t demean Mehdi Hasan enough – he hates us and all we stand for. It’s a pity the Israelis don’t take him out with the other trash.
