That Went Well

Since taking over my own publishing, I have been trying different marketing strategies. So far, Amazon and Meta as I already know that Twitter/X is largely a waste of time from other authors – not to mention Leggy tried here and concluded similarly.

So… How did it go? Amazon told me off for glorifying gambling, and the Meta ad has resulted in four attempts to scam me.

There has to be a better way than this.

  1. Perhaps go to some bookstores in your area and ask them to display some of your books in their windows in exchange for some commission?

  2. Ok LR, post the first chapter on this blog. I’ll read it, and if I like it, I’ll buy it.
I often download a sample from Amazon, and usually end up buying it.
    Can’t say fairer than that.
    Best of luck with it.

  3. There is one other way, LR … post it as a blog and not bother publicising, other than to link in “Other”. Of course, that’s fine for my minor scribblings but for higher literature such as yours and Leggy’s, it needs something more … and that’s when the issues start.
