Controversial?

Apparently, the views expressed by the listed Ukip newly elected MEPs in the article are controversial. As many of those commenting below the line observe, there is nothing controversial about them at all. They are refreshingly down to Earth for politicos. For the Islington leftists, though, I guess they are controversial. And how galling it must be that so many people reject their politically correct authoritarianism in favour of people with “controversial” views.

This little meme is set to roll on and on, it seems. I’m going to run out of popcorn at this rate.

  1. Would UKIP have polled more than the four and a half million votes it achieved on Sunday if it had been more racist? Just a thought.

  2. “…After months of gaffes and controversies…”

    By whom?

The biggest (and most controversial) gaffes I’ve seen or heard have been from Cameron, Clegg & Millipede. Oh, and also from their tame pets in the mainstream media.

  3. I commented “You enthusiastically promote this sort of article and wonder why your circulation has more than halved in only 3 years.”
I was honoured by my second post, a response to Andrew Moss’ post “P*ss of and hijack another paper then. Only the Indie would be free enough to let you disgusting lot have their say.” being removed.
All I did was to suggest the Indie was the only paper willing to lower its debating level to one that he was aspiring to —
    what’s wrong with that!!!

  4. Oh dear, you have failed to spot the euphemism. By “controversial” the Indy really means thick and moronic but Kippers have such thin skins they really can’t say that. But I can.
