We pruned the Buddleia last week. We put the cuttings in the trailer to take up to the dump when I get around to it. The spiders came out of the cuttings and wove webs all over my bike. It was covered. So I just gently moved them on. I certainly have no desire to ward them off or get rid of them. If I find one in the house, I’ll carefully pick it up and put it outside. They do no harm. So the idea that I should use pesticide or other fatal methods of control on something that causes me no harm is pretty repugnant, frankly.

Ditto & likewise – in fact I only ‘evict’ them if they’re either a )bloody huge or b) likely to get splatted by our moggies:- on the whole, spiders get rid of a lot of more (potentially) harmful multi-legged creepies…
