‘He’s not the monster that people want him to be, he’s not an angel. He’s somewhere in between.
‘But what he is at his heart is a pragmatic businessman, and he views politics like he views business.’
I think it’s great because the political elite – for a very long time – have managed to bamboozle people into thinking the only way to run anything politically is through politicians, career politicians.
‘I would argue that performance in the last 20 years is demonstrable evidence that that is not actually the case.’
Piers Morgan.
Well knock me down with a wet haddock, for the very first time I find myself on the same side of the argument as Piers Morgan.
My reaction exactly.
Thirdly!
Its been clear for some time now that Piers Morgan has seen something in Trump that the remainder of his Lefty friends do not. Remember Morgan said some time ago that Trump would win. No doubt he has been given the cold shoulder by those same “friends” He is, however, correct. Trump is not a politician, he carries no dogmatic baggage and sees issues in very clear terms. What’s the best way of fixing that?, How can we do a deal with X or Y” He’s a businessman, who if you go to him with a mutually beneficial deal, he will almost certainly accept it. He’s pragmatic in a way that most politicians aren’t.
Yes, I’d agree with that. It’s why I see him as a breath of fresh air in American politics. He’s no intellectual giant, but then, he doesn’t pretend to be. Nor was Reagan, but he proved to be a very able leader. And some of the Reagan quotes are classics.
Something is happening here, but you don’t know what it is, do you mr Davos….
