I’ve been a bit busy and distracted with some personal issues this past few days, hence a bit of a lull. However, in the meantime, can I please ask folk to play nice. Disagreement is fine, but I don’t take kindly to being shouted at, insulted, accused of not understanding when I do, and I get really, really pissed off with logical fallacies and histrionics.
I don’t often tell commenters to fuck off…
I try not to be sucked into toy throwing rabbit holes. If I have decesded down any I’m sorry.
Fingers crossed your burdens are soon lifted
Meanwhile, here’s a piece to remind folks of the evil policies our Gov’ts deploy – not on foreign enemies, but on our own kith and kin. Being aware of this can stop one being sucked into a state of fear
And Finally…

Good Night and God Bless
You did a bit over the Angela Rayner post. It was never about the Mail article, it was about the sinister developments that followed. However, any slight irritation I might have felt was nothing compared to my reaction to Greg’s hysterical and insulting outbursts. I have a comments policy that covers this, so the above was just a reminder.
The personal stuff just needs time. I’ll live.
Good thing we have no altercations. ?
Just seen the posts in question! Wow- I’m tempted to ask him if he can define what a woman actually is or answer how many genders there are as those answers will test whether (as I suspect) his defense of ‘women’s rights’ is highly selective…
Not often you have to calm the kiddies in the sandbox in fairness but fair play for maintaining your composure…
I’m pretty easy going, but that kind of Tourette’s hysteria just gets on my tits.
@LR
Like VP just seen Greg’s emotional outbursts – wow, irrational wailing. Woman Studes graduate?
Good responses. I added, hope it’s OK
On Rayner, I know what your point was, however the headline and sub, esp ‘spiteful’ set the tone. It was Daily Mirror / BBC clickbait with facts later and damaging to your reputation, hence my somewhat aggressive response
Moving on, why thinking and questioning not obedient conformity matters

And Finally…
Nighty, night; God bless
Okay, a couple of points and then we can draw a line here. Firstly, we haven’t fallen out over the Angela Rayner story, just as I didn’t fall out with Ripper over the Ukraine invasion. I experienced some minor irritation, that’s all.
I read the original MoS story and formed an opinion. It was typical Westminster tittle tattle, which is the most charitable thing that I can say about it. As the subsequent revelations came out, I read it again, however, my original assessment stood. So my opinion of the piece hadn’t changed just as my opinion of Rayner hadn’t changed. On the matter of the headline, it referred to the speaker’s attempt to suppress the media, not the original story.
The reason I experienced irritation was because at no time was I outraged. It takes more than that, frankly. As for my reputation – well, while I appreciate your concern, I’m sure that it will survive.
OK, thread can sleep
Moving on, Rayner & Starmer in more hot water after MoS.
“No I wasn’t there”, “No she wasn’t there”
Oh, we forgot, little slip of mind…
Oh, she was on leaked Top Secret plan for that day, as was curry dinner then back to hotel. Err, em, no comment
Looks like some Labour HQ staff have had enough of Starmer’s lies
Next reveal, I hope, is his unofficial official real full on Birthday Party in London offices
Damn, niggling thought I’ve forgotten something
Sleep well
