The blogging landscape just got smaller.
Mark was a commenter here and I did leave comments at his for a while. We vigorously disagreed on the subject of LVT, but otherwise we were pretty much in alignment. So, another one down.

Like so many I have “met” only through blogs I wish I had met him, and all the others, in the flesh. Maybe in the Moon Over Water with a half and half. Or a few.

Always sad when someone passes away: condolences to the family.
I only knew the blog but he seemed my age, 60ish, and talked about his MX5 and MR2 so no idea that he was in poor health.
He did have a thing about LVT which I think has fundamental problems and did not seem to accept any counter arguments.
Yup. I got into a long discussion with him at one point. There are serious flaws with it – the so called poor widow fallacy being his favourite. Mark’s approach was that it could be tweaked. But that was tinkering at the edges of what is a very regressive tax.
Sad to hear and not a nice way to go, particularly as he appeared to be no older than I.
Must say I really couldn’t get my head round his messianic belief in LVT as the seeming snake oil for pretty well all societal ills.
There must have been something driving him to it, but we’ll never know now.
