More on the Surveillance Society

On the face of it, this Times article reports a positive issue. That is; helping employers to stamp out harrassment at work. Why is it that everytime someone identifies a problem, some bright spark (often with a product to sell) comes up with more surveillance? And will it work? And, how do you feel about having all of your correspondence scruitnised? The trouble with high levels of surveillance is that eventually, you create more problems than you solve. The possibilites for abuse just don’t bear thinking about.

Big Blunkett will be pleased – after all, he’s the one who wants to put cameras in trees to spy on hunters who carry on hunting if/when a ban comes in. Is it just me, or is there something fishy about a blind man who wants to watch us all the time?
