Authoritarian Arsehole of the Day

Sir Paul Coleridge.

Married couples need to be taught about monogamy to help stem a tide of family breakdown which could blight life in Britain for decades, a leading High Court judge will say today.

With all due respect (i.e. none at all); fuck off and mind your own business. Marriage is a contract between two people. The state should have no place within this contract and no say in how it is conducted – and certainly judges can keep their interfering prodnoses out as well. As someone who is married I do not need and certainly do not want the courageous state lecturing me on monogamy. I’m an adult, I can work these things out for myself and if I or my wife break that contract, it is between us, not Paul fucking Coleridge.

  1. It’s no accident…

TPTB want to keep the populace conditioned to let them make every decision for them, control them.

Easier to milk & exploit them when they’re infantilised and unquestioning.

  2. XX Marriage is a contract between two people.XX

    Aye, exactly.

But is this just a veiled*….”strike” at “certain” people (“Communitys”)?

    HOPEFULLY!

They should, when, to quote your good self; “Marriage is a contract between two people.”

Muslims FUCK off! with your 96 virginal “wives!”

Or what ever the number may be this week.

Why not call a pig a pig?

    * Pardon the pun.

    • If muslims want to make that sort of contract then it’s still none of the state’s business. There’s nothing wrong with polygamy per se, so long as all parties involved are willing participants and know what they’re getting involved in.

If people (predominantly women) are coerced into it or threats/violence are involved then it’s a different matter entirely. However laws already exist for dealing with such violence, if only they were enforced properly.

  3. Seriously if I had stayed married any more than the 25 years I endured I’d be dead.
I stuck it and stuck it because I felt it was my obligation, I believed marriage was for life but it takes 2 to make a marriage work and if one person is doing it all by them self how can that work!
I am gobsmacked how fucking dare they.
My ex’s gf already changes her name by deed poll to my ex husbands and he is counting the days till he can divorce me just so he can remarry, this from the man who when I said “If anything happened to me or we split up you would replace me in a week” replied “NO NEVER i could never replace you” well he did and it was 2 weeks after I left.
So fuck the judge who wants to stick his ore in.
I was monogamous for 25 years my ex had 5 afairs and one of them with my brothers first wife whilst she was married to my brother.
So this idiot would expect us all to stay married even if our partners are unfaithful and violent and we are not!
    Excuse my language but BOLLOCKS.

  4. A contract in which the State should have no part? Hmm.. Who do you think grants permission to marry, via a marriage license?

    • Er, that’s my point. It should not be in the business of granting licenses in the first place. Marriage should be a contract between those involved without any state involvement whatsoever. It is not up to the state to decide what is, or is not, marriage and who may or may not join in a union called marriage.

      • Yes, absolutely. Good luck with the new Beemer, and don’t forget to watch “Hitler gets the wrong bike” on YouTube, a Downfall classic.

          • The only one I owned was a K75 and it was utterly soulless. Competent yes, but not a bike, just a thin car. The only machine I ever used to ride on motorways instead of twisties to get the journey over with. Handling and everything was good, but it didn’t interact. Never rode a twin other than an R45, the clutch was a bit sudden and it was slow. I see your new one is about 5 times the power, though, should be nice.

          • I’ve been riding boxers now for twenty years. Had an R45 briefly but the new boxers are way beyond the old air cooled ones. One of the things I like is that the weight is all low down – even the big ones such as my current 1150 and the one I’m buying are nimble on their feet. James May talked about steering them with your hips and that just about sums them up. They handle like much smaller machines, the big twin provides lots of torque and they are under stressed on long motorway journeys. And, frankly, they are better value for money than the competition – and I say this as someone who loves the Pan European.

I would add that the R45 was a sleeved down 650 – which had better power to weight ratio. Yeah, the 45 was always a bit under powered and the old dry clutch was a bit snatchy.
