This story makes me angry beyond belief. Whatever you think of Maxine Carr – and I’m inclined to believe that she is foolish and easily led – she did not kill the two girls at Soham. Indeed, she had nothing to do with the killings. Her crime was to help fabricate an alibi for Ian Huntley. For that, she was rightly prosecuted and served time. That’s it. Yet our mob mentality culture, encouraged by the screaming tabloids just can’t get enough blood. Paedophilia is the new witch hunt.
Let’s get things into proportion here, paedophilia has always been with us. Indeed, there was a time when it was officially sanctioned. But Maxine Carr was not guilty of paedophilia and she should not be hounded by the mob.
Those who think it is okay to behave in this fashion are nothing more than a lynch mob and deserving of utter contempt. 
I trust the police will vigorously pursue anyone involved in such behaviour and that they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
