The new BMW K1200S as tested here by the Telegraph isn’t my choice of machine. Sports bikes just don’t do it for me. The issues that Kevin Ash has with the bike are by drawing a comparison with its natural competitors and he is probably right; this is not BMW’s natural home ground. What interests me, though, is that my R1150RT is coming up to three years old. Usually I would be considering changing it at this point. With the innovations that the K1200S brings – new suspension, new engine – I’m going to wait and see what is around in the next year to eighteen months when they bring out an RT model. Now that is likely to make me smile….
