NO2ID and Conspiracy Theorists

As a supporter of NO2ID I also contribute to their forum. Like all fora, it is a useful place to swap ideas – and it’s given me some things to think about. For instance, I’m definitely going to renew my passport before the October 2005 deadline. This will give me 10 years and 9 months before I’m forced into the registration for an identity card via the so called voluntary phase. The fora are also useful for honing debating skills and preparing arguments.

Unfortunately the decision has been made by the admins to allow guest posting. I can understand why – it allows people to post anonymously. A campaign group that is dedicated to trying to preserve the right to anonymity would, logically take that decision. The downside to this is that there is a flood of SPAM and, worse, conspiracy theorists. I know these people are out there, but I’m bemused and amazed that there are so many of them. It’s one thing to ask pertinent questions about the “magic bullet” that killed JFK – but to suggest that the US government arranged for the Twin Towers attacks and the London bombers were operatives recruited by the UK government to create an environment that makes ID cards easier to push through just beggars belief.

While I’m perfectly happy to question official sources and stories; while I’m more than happy to accept that the scrotes are nothing more than opportunists who will use tragedy to their own ends; I really cannot believe that George Bush and his nefarious little crew really masterminded 9/11. Come on peeps, reality check, please. Anyone who has the operational and organisational competence to manage this would have made a better job of Iraq, now, wouldn’t they?

The problem for NO2ID is that these people damage the campaign. NO2ID is a non-party group with broad appeal – it encompass traditional Labour supporters alongside right wing libertarians. We are all united on this single issue; the ID Cards Bill. We are not interested in discussing 9/11 or 7/7 conspiracies because to do so is not only distracting, it leaves us open to accusation and belittling by our opponents, who will label us as nothing more than conspiracy nuts who should not be taken seriously. We are not conspiracy nuts and, believe me, we really should be taken seriously.

  1. Whether or not Bush masterminded 9/11 may never be proven, but he certainly ignored enough intelligence relating to the event beforehand.

  2. Have you seen the footage of Bush sitting with children at a school? And the moment one of his men whispers in his ear about what has just happened with the planes? I saw no surprise or fear in his face. A good film to watch is Farenheight 9/11. Michael Moore is a genius.

”’Longrider replies: There’s a gulf of difference between the buffoonery, stupidity and incompetence displayed by Bush’s performance so far and the guile needed to carry out the kind of conspiracy that requires deliberately murdering thousands of your own citizens. The man’s an opportunist who made the most of what circumstance offered him – he hasn’t the ability to be anything more.”’

  3. Yeah sorry, I did not make myself clear. I’m not suggesting for a minute he masterminded the whole thing… that would be far too intelligent for him. I was refering to Pimme’s comment, I think he was well aware that something was going to happen before hand. The set up was far too..well…set up! Sat in a room full of innocent children. The picture of the kind caring man….hearing news of some nasty men flying planes into buildings. I think he ignored the warning signs. But as we all know, there is probably far more going on than we will ever find out about.
