Since MyDV was subject to an injunction, they have resurfaced as PSP Universe. This company is just another manifestation of the Jeremy Paradies empire that has no understanding of customer care. Quick to take your money and slow to supply the goods. If you do get them, they will be non-uk models so incompatible with UK software and power outlets. Oh, and you won’t have a UK warranty.
So, if you are thinking about buying from this company, I strongly suggest that you don’t. You will be subject to exactly the same treatment as the hapless customers of MyDV. The prices are in UK£ and will be subject to exchange rates and commission fees. Supply is at best extremely patchy.
LEAVE WELL ALONE.
So glad I found your blog entry. Was seriously considering buying from PSP Universe on a wholesale scale, don’t think I will do that now.
Many thanks for the info and Happy New Year

As like previous comments, I to appear to have fallen foul, after contacting my bank they pulled a UK number off against the authorisation code billed by PSP Universe, I rang it and an amercian guy answered and advised me he knew nothing about PSP Universe, a bit suspect, I remember there being a UK number on their website before it went down but don’t know if it is the same. The support number PSP universe advise on their invoice I can not get through to, looks like thats it.
”’Longrider replies: Go over to [http://www.matrixwatch.org/ Matrixwatch] and register your complaint on their complainants’ register. You would also do well to register a complaint with the Attorney General”’

I only wish…………..I had seen your site earlier as did all the previous people.I have ordered a PSP on the 2rd Jan 05 and as I believed they were a Uk based co became worried as it hasn’t been delivered as yet and it is impossible to get their site up…surprise surprise!!!!! Now from what I understand it looks like there is a good chance that my young son who has saved all his paper round money and his Xmas money to buy this, will not be receiving it. I am now going to contact my Credit card and see what my rights are and will keep you posted. But they are very clever at PSP Universe.co.uk, they lead you to believe that they are a UK base company for one and that therefore all their goods are suitable for UK use which I now doubt it is. I will also contact Which Magasine and alert them to the scam. Thanks for taking the trouble to set up such site, you are now in my favourites and I will always consult you before engaging in an other venture where I need to part with money and I don’t know the co.

Can anyone let me have a copy of the current terms & conditions for PSPuniverse.co.uk. I paid £155 for PSP value package that hasn’t turned up despite promises. I was told its being shipped via DHL and will be with me in 10 days but that is what they said last time and the time before that. Now the sites off the web and I can’t raise anyone on the contact number. I need the T&Cs so that I can take the details to the fraud squad and the bank. If I can prove fraud I might be able to get the money back.
”’Longrider replies: I’m sorry, I don’t. MyDV’s were pretty weak, from what I recall and loosely worded. Don’t let that stop you going to your bank. Likely as not, they will be aware of them. Also, file a complaint with the attorney general in Massachusetts.”’

Another one! I too have fallen foul of Mr Paradies empire by purchasing a PSP from PSPuniverse on 29 Dec, I even got a transcript of the call I made to their contact centre to check UK compatibility, all seemed very professional. I have sent a few e-mails to various addresses. My advice to you all is make sure you also block your card details as the company still have your details and in theory could charge more to your account. Also check for any items on the net about any company you are unfamiliar with, not jsut their own about us icon.
i to feel so mad to be ripped of by these idiots. ordered mine on 28th december the phone number on there sitr was 01618706584
I to have been had by this bunch of scammers. They are not based in Aberdeenshire, they are based in the Manchester area. Like you all say no telephone answers, website down one big scam!I ordered the psp on the 29th Dec over the net, into the new year i rang them to confirm a delivery date and was told they have a back log and it could be 7-10 day delivery. Then 2 days later it would be here Tuesday or Wednesday. Still no show. Been onto the credit card company and they say they will look into it after 30 days from the day of the order. They won’t do anything till then because of the credit card rules. You have to wait 30 days incase of poor delivery so i was told.
I can’t believe I got suckered into buying from PSP Universe! I also purchased the £155 PSP Value pack and have now been waiting for 15 days for them to deliver. I have just spoken with my bank and they have assured me that I will receive a full refund from them if the merchandise or a refund is not received within 30 days. I hope that it doesn’t turn up because I don’t want one that isn’t compatable with UK films anyway!
Hi there – do not touch these ******** I ordered a value pack on 28/12/05 – they took the money the same day and no unit showed up in the 7-10 days stated for delivery.
If you paid by Credit card you will get your money back – even if they ship a unit and it is not a UK unit – as they will have failed to delivery goods and services as agreed.
Ahhhh. The bastards they have scammed me too for £170.44 I have called my bank and they are going to complete a switch recall form to see if they can get the money back. I don’t hold out too much hope.
Hi
I wish I had known about this website before I naively purchased a PSP for £149.95 from this so called company PSP Universe. After numerous attempts trying to contact them via the telephone and email, I too fell foul of their promises that I will receive it early this week, but I dont think I will and will be contacting my credit card company to try and get my money back.
i am another victim of this scam and trying to get my money back but not hopeful £149.95 wish i could catch these rip off arse holes.
I have also been scammed to the actual amount of (£183.83 UK GBP) for a PSP which I have now managed to cancel. 12 days on from cancellation still awaiting a refund. They sent an email of my order status with the total sum of £169.95 but when I read my bank statement it says 311.01 USD @ 1.691 which works out at £183.83 and that’s what I have been charged. I need to seek free legal advice.
Just a note, the phone number that people have been calling to get in touch with these people is no longer working. I know that because I just got that phone number when I got Vonage. So far I have recieved around 2 dozen calls from angry people and even a Brittish police officer. Please stop calling me, 8 in the morning is like 3 or 4 a.m. here.
I Almost bought A PSP early Jan from PSP Universe,The price was too good to be true. So I called up and they explained why they were selling it cheap as it was a US import tax free…The Bad part was that it was American so you would need american games, I asked to visit them at their premisis which they did not disclose and knew it was a scam.Am sorry to hear fellow Gamers falling foul to these ******!
