Consumer Power

If you check out any of the NEPCO sites; MyDV, Garden Ready, nepine.co.uk, oztool or PSP Universe, you will get the following:

Sorry, the shop is inaccessible temporarily. Please try again later.

That, or a server unavailable message. This has been the case since late last week.

Following a massive consumer complaint programme, the Attorney General in Massachusetts sought a court injunction against NEPCO forcing it to honour existing orders and refunds before taking further orders. The cut off was January the 6th 2006. As there were still outstanding complaints (indeed, still are) – as evidenced by the comments on this site and over at Matrixwatch, it was fairly obvious that the company had failed to comply. So, they appear to have been shut down.

If ever there was evidence that consumers can fight back against unethical traders who see them as a soft touch, this is it.

Consumer power rocks .

  1. I’m glad to hear that many voices actually made a difference. If only we could get rid of more unethical companies, the world would be a much better place!
