Following on from yesterday’s story about animal rights extremists attempting to blackmail GlaxoSmithKline shareholders, the company has obtained an injunction:
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has obtained a High Court emergency injunction against animal rights extremists who threatened the drugs group’s investors.
The injunction prevents the Campaign Against Huntingdon Life Sciences from sending more letters and from revealing personal details of GSK shareholders.
This is excellent news as it sends a clear message to blackmailers that their sordid tactics will not be tolerated. Standing firm is the only way to deal with these people. In the meantime, there is something of a backlash:
Meanwhile, pro-research group Pro-Test has bought GSK shares as a “gesture of solidarity” with GSK and its investors.
That is how you deal with blackmailers.
