Here, then, are a couple of pictures from my recent sojourn.
The first is the Pont du Diable crossing the L’Herault by St Jean de Fos. This is not quite the picture I wanted to capture. If I could get low enough, then I would be able to get the new bridge in the image through the arches of the old one. Unfortunately, given the angles, I would have to be in the middle of the river…
This, then, was the nearest I could get.
The second image is of the abbey at Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert. Not an easy building to capture from the village in part because of the plethora of people walking by, but also the building is too close. I took this one from the road that goes behind the village and provides some foliage for framing. A more satisfying picture in my opinion.
