Out of idle curiosity, how much Occitan is spoken these days?

A fair bit. My neighbour speaks it. Also, I notice that the town signs are being produced in dual languages around here – French and Occitan. So there seems to be something of a revival.
Interesting. I’ve noticed the Occitan and Provencal signs in France, but have never quite known what to make of them.
In the Highlands of Scotland, town signs are now increasingly in both Gaelic and English, but it doesn’t actually mean that anyone local actually speaks Gaelic. Indeed, it sometimes seems to that they waited for Gaelic to die off before they started putting up signs in Gaelic.
