In my mid (last)century newspaper subbing days, I was expected to keep a good dictionary at my elbow and to visit the library to check obscure points in reporters’ (often semi-literate) copy. I would at least have known how to spell “effect” correctly.

I really don’t get this. There’s two sides to a coin. Surely, if it was pure luck, you’d expect to get around 50% of your guesses right?

I really don’t get this. There’s two sides to a coin. Surely, if it was pure luck, you’d expect to get around 50% of your guesses right?
