  1. Duly signed and weeping.

Currently advising pregnant friend of Mrs M! after her boyfriend had arguement with thieving ex-lodger.

He was accused of “being violent” and having child porn on his computer. Both nonsense.

Next day the ss were round to take her toddler (by her late husband). They won’t allow her to see boyfriend and get her to sign all sorts of stuff or she won’t see her child again and already have made it clear they want the baby too.

Her English is poor and she is not allowed representation of any kind other than the “solicitor” that the ss appointed.

Poor lass is a sitting duck.

Not sorry to rant as I’m too pissed off about it all.

  2. We’re trying LR, but it’s difficult as the ss threaten her at every turn.

She is not allowed contact with her boyfriend who is an IT expert – they were dead quick to get him out of the equation.

Her Mum has come over, but only has a short visa (there may be a way to extend this involving voluntary work) and at present has to return home a week before the next hearing. Mum is a Head Teacher and has been a great help to her, but the bottom line is that in the family court she is entirely alone.

We will probably have them over at Christmas and put some form of statement together that she can read out in the court.

Can’t even get them out of the country as their passports have been taken away, despite hers not being a UK one.

  3. Yes, they have the whole process sewn up in their favour, including reporting restrictions and all “in the interests of the child”. So that’s OK then.

The irony is that when she was pregnant with the child and nursing her dying husband, and when she was looking after the baby (still nursing her dying husband) she asked the ss for help and was told that they did not need any. So she soldiered on, looking after them both, then looking after the baby after her husband had died.

Now, all of a sudden she’s an unfit mother.

    Makes my blood boil.

  4. The problem with those of us who see these situations as wrong is that we believe in non violence and logical argument. Unfortunately these bastards know that and so carry on. Maybe we have to change our mindset and rise up.

  5. A cracking point Lemmi. Pardon the pun.

I certainly do often get the urge to subject these sorts to a little “behind the skip diplomacy”. Are we being fooled into thinking that there is no such a thing as positive violence in a civilised society?

WHOOOOAAAA!!! There’s a right can of worms!
