Blogging has been light again this week. I’ve had a cold. Not in itself a problem; I usually just dose up on the various remedies and carry on. However, combined with the one on, one off night shifts, it has been playing havoc with my sleep patterns. I’m a bit jet lagged at the moment.
Things will return to normal in a day or so, I expect.
One on, one off, that sounds strange, are these the normal shift patterns ? Guaranteed to produce fatigue I’d say, I find normal, week at a time, shifts tiring enough and shift work doesn’t do your immune system any favours at the best of times. Get well soon.
One of my ongoing disputes with Sainsbury’s is the fatigue caused by the shift pattern. I did mention that they have a duty of care to manage shift worker fatigue and their reply was along the lines of “well, you chose the job”. Actually, the choice was that or insolvency, so, no, not really…
And, yes, my circadian rhythms are all over the place.
