Summer’s tardy arrival after the non arrival of spring means that some of the blooms are late this year. I’ve been out taking some pictures of the colour in our garden.

Nice photos, that 1st one is a stunner.
The flag iris is a particular favourite of mine. We’ve been waiting three years for this one to bloom.
Well worth the wait.
Digitalis, already?
Indeed, and they are looking magnificent.
Magnifique!
Oh! No missus in her bikini then?
Nice photos. Love the one of the campanula (if I’ve guessed correctly). Its been a good week for the garden… and the rest of us too. Let’s hope it continues.
Very nice indeed.
Hope to get some photography in myself, soon.
Mind you, I still use Fujichrome as I suppose at least some of me is a luddite…
Lovely to see a bit of colour appearing, isn’t it. I’ve no garden but a yard with higgledy-piggledy pots everywhere and the stars of the show (besides a couple of roses) are usually the fuchsias with about 10 different varieties. How are your fuchsias doing ?
With the weather up and down leaf growth has been stunted and they’re growing a bit shrivelled but I’ve FINALLY got a couple of flower buds developing on a few.
I’m hoping for a huge explosion of colour in about 6-8 weeks – all at once ! 😀
The fuschias are fine except for the hardys and we lost some of those in the long winter. The Alice Hoffmans are in bloom, though.
Mmhmm I “lost” about 6 to the Big Freeze…no leaf shoots and twiggy…but the roots looked ok so repotted em in fresh compost & root builder. They’re in intensive care to see how they go.
See, I once tossed a pot containing what I thought was a dead fuchsia behind the shed…it was a stick I swear…and got a lovely surprise about 3 years later when I found it and it had miraculously rejuvenated.
S’pose moral of the story is don’t give up on em. They really can be hardy little buggers.
I’ve lost about half my fuchsia’s and the rest are nowhere near to flowering. 😥
