Grub’s Up?

No thanks.

Two billion people already eat insects as part of their regular diet – bugs may not sound appealing, but once upon a time neither did sushi. Is it time to put ants, beetles and locusts on the menu?

Maybe so, but I won’t eat raw fish. The nearest I’ve got to it is smoked salmon and that was vile. So, no, I won’t be eating locusts, thanks very much.

Anyone remember Stephen Fry trying out ant on QI? That image will last a lifetime…

The greenies are really determined to guilt trip us off red meat, aren’t they?

  1. Yes people will eat insects , normally when no other protein is available or because of tradition (formed when no other protein was available. People will eat almost anything to stave of starvation , as it is said, “How hungry was the first person to eat an oyster?” or a whelk for that matter . In Japan I was urged to try the delicacy of Sea Urchin , I can only say in description, if Evil had a taste this is what it would be , it felt like my teeth and tongue were trying to escape from my mouth to get away from it.

Same applies to carbs , when on Hawaii I was urged to try the traditional dish of Poi It tasted of nothing and had the texture of wallpaper paste

“and you eat this ?” I said to the waiter
“Nah mate” he replied ” only at ceremonies, not since we got rice and potatoes “
