A happy new year to all of my readers.
So, another one passes into history. My sojourn in France seems but a distant memory these days. The return in January of 2011 is but ancient history now and the anguish of selling long gone – as is the job at Sainsbury’s taken on to get us on our feet. Mrs L managed to get her old job in IT back and is settled – and happy with her lot. I have managed to rebuild my self-employed work. 2013 was a bumper year with a 12-month contract that kept me manically busy. I was hardly at home and am feeling pretty exhausted – even though an overrun means mopping up into March, so next week it is back to more of the same. But, and perhaps this is the sign that things have turned, it means that new bike I’m buying is an outright purchase. In all the years I’ve been riding, I’ve never bought a new bike outright before. So, no loans, no HP, just savings. That, then, for me is the mark of 2013 – and 2014 I look forward to because then I’ll be collecting the fruits of my labours.
Oh, yeah, and I have a new client who is promising lots of work. And you never know, having had a successful working relationship, Network Rail may well come back for more in years to come.
I wish all of you nothing but good fortune and I wish all the MPs who make our lives worse with their thieving, micromanaging, bansturbating and binge legislation nothing but a painful pox that gnaws away at their genitals and eats its way through their slimy bodies until it consumes what passes for the brain matter that they keep in their skulls – likewise the uncivil servants that do their bidding and the petty little HV coated jobsworths that bluster and bully us over nothing at all just because they can. May they all die horribly in agony and make our New Year a more pleasant one for that.
A very Happy New year to you and Mrs LR and the kitties.
Sounds like you will have a very busy 2014, always a good thing as it keeps the “little grey cells” oiled and functioning.
