While I am all for technology improving our lives, sometimes, it can take a step further than I am willing to go. I have not, for example, activated the contactless facility on my bank cards, preferring to use the PIN on every transaction. Likewise, I am not going to use my mobile phone for financial transactions either.
I’m really wary of putting all of my eggs in one basket, to coin a cliché. So, no, not for me. I’ll keep using my bank card for payments and my phone for phone calls.
Likewise – and I’ve been in IT since the mid-70’s.
There is absolutely no way I would put myself in the place of having to prove my innocence to any bank when there is the inevitable disputed charge.

Remember Maz Harris? HAMC England, used to write in BSH.
His theory on “Filofax” (any one remember THEM?)
“A usefull way to loose all your important information in one go.”
What would he have made of all this techno shite we have now?
God! Maz Harris, that takes me back…
Me neither.
It won’t be long before the smarter and more savvy thieves will be able to extract a few quid from a contatless card just by walking past you close. Imagine the bonanza in a crowded consumer cathedral.
