According to the Scotsman the Liberal Democrats will aim to defeat HMG’s plans for ID cards. Home Affairs spokesman Mark Oaten said that it would be his “main priority�? in the run-up to the General Election. He called it "illiberal" and that "it attacks the civil liberties we stand for"
He also comments on the estimated £3 billion cost of the plan and can’t wait to get his teeth into it.
