According to Greg Palast the US voting card system failed them again this time around. I’m amazed that such a flaky system exists. Thousands of votes are not counted because of sticking chads. Also, partisan officials are allowed to challenge peoples’ right to vote. What sort of system is this? It certainly isn’t any sort of democracy as I understand it.
According to Mr Palast, had all of the votes been counted, Kerry would have won Ohio and New Mexico and a new president would be sworn in next January.
This is the country that chooses to preach to the rest of the world about the merits of democracy. Putting one’s own house in order first is on the cards, methinks.
