A US oil outlet is boycotting middle eastern oil
A “terror-free” petrol station has opened in the US city of Omaha.
The Terror-Free Oil Initiative (TFO), which runs the outlet, says none of its fuel comes from countries which it believes are supporting terrorism.
Although it’s all a bit over done and garish, the underlying message of releasing ourselves from the need to use oil from the middle east is one I go along with entirely.
Joe Kaufman, speaking on behalf of the company makes the point:
We cannot help but feel held hostage to the whims of those that, if they weren’t accepting our money, would instead accept our demise.
Because of this, and other reasons as well, our quest is to get away from Middle Eastern oil altogether.
They may well be pissing in the wind, but I wish them well. Theirs is a message we could all heed.
I certainly agree that we should get away from using oil completely, regardless of origin. However, statements that accuse whole nations of supporting terrorism and wanting the West’s demise just exacerbate the suspicion and animosity which is aimed at these countries.
I’ll refer to Dogbert, a cartoon character, to explain why the premise behind this is false.

Good word; fungible. Sometimes, a statement is just a statement… or was that a cigar?
