Drinkers in Wales are to be spied upon:
Drinkers are being asked to go through hi-tech ID checks at a city bar battling under-age boozers.
Civil liberties campaigners have criticised the ‘excessive’ scheme brought in by the Walkabout Inn, St Mary Street, Cardiff.
Excessive being something of an understatement.
‘There are two reasons people don’t want to provide ID. Either they aren’t old enough or they are planning to cause trouble – which is why we don’t want them here.’
