Sometimes the SPAM comments I get amuse me. Given the effectiveness of the filters in place – none of them get through – I can’t help wondering why they continue to bother. Still, they try to make the “comments” appear as if they were written by real people. They used to always be a one-liner praising the blog in very general terms. Now it seems they’ve taken the opposite tack:
The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read
There were two of these in the filter this morning. I’m not sure what the genius who came up with it thought he would achieve other than deletion. I mean, if a real commenter came up with this, I’d zap it too. If you disagree with me, fine, but simply indulging in a drive-by insult adds nothing to the discussion and is summarily deleted. So, this one is a Fail.
That seems an unusual development – try to spam the blog by telling the author his or her blog is shit. Oh well. I look forward to being called a cunt by someone wanting me to post a link to their viagra-flogging webshite soon.

A rather ham handed attempt at reverse psychology by said spammer methinks?
