Yes, really. Tony Sewell comes to praise Katherine Birbalsingh, not to bury her. It is nice, finally to see an article in the Groan that says things like this:
The row over free schools is a healthy and interesting one. Birbalsingh is a brave black woman who had the audacity to berate the schools system and, more pointedly, the leftwing consensus on education. Birbalsingh and I, and a growing number of what I call black and Asian free thinkers, are now turning against our mainly white liberal mentors. We are tired of their flawed research always positioning black and Asian people as victims of institutional racism, never demanding any responsibility from the individual.
Yes, absolutely. And it is interesting to see how the so called liberal progressives react when their pets don’t do as they are told. Indeed, this is what Sewell is responding to. Her crime, of course, was to support the Tories and that is an evil that may never be forgiven. She is of mixed race, so must, therefore, remain forever a pet of the progressives and never talk of such heresies as self determination and personal responsibility.
What is interesting is that the first few comments are all supportive.
