More Digital and Spamming

About ten days ago I received an unsolicited email from a company called More Digital. It was the usual request; would I host adverts on my blog? I’ve discussed this kind of stuff before. As is usual with such requests, I bin the email and ignore the request. If someone cannot be bothered to take note of the relevant passage on my contact page, then there’s no point responding.

However, More Digital don’t take that one lying down. Today, I received a nagging reminder. This surprised me as usually such spammers take the hint when I don’t respond. After all, a failure to respond is a response of sorts.

Still, having been nagged, I did a little research. They are seeking to get paid links into blog posts –  so a bit like the previous lot I was discussing last year, then. Their clients are the usual spammy stuff such as online gaming sites and health products –  the kind of bad neighbours I wouldn’t touch with the proverbial barge pole, let alone advertise. I have no interest in gaming Google using hidden back links and I make that pretty clear on my contact page. If someone then contacts me despite this and having received no response contacts me again to nag me, they cannot be too surprised if I do respond –  it’s just that the response they receive might not be the one they were expecting 👿
