Barely has the dust settled over the court of appeal’s decision to quash the ridiculous conviction of Paul Chambers than the cretins are at it again.
Dorset Police have confirmed the teenager was arrested on suspicion of malicious communications at a guest house in Weymouth following a series of abusive messages.
Offensive? Yeah, doubtless they were. However, should they be illegal and should it result in a waste of police time arresting this person? FFS! Of course not.
Dorset Police yesterday confirmed it was investigating the incident.
Presumably Dorset police have used up their quota of parking tickets to issue. This should not be a crime and it should not be a police matter. Unpleasant and insensitive, yes. Damned stupid, absolutely, but worth a criminal record? Do me a favour.
Whatever happened to the stiff upper lip? Gone a bit limp, it would seem.
The public’s spine has slowly been removed by a succession of state policies in different areas. It’s not possible to point an accusing finger at any one measure, but H&S, kneejerk terror legislation, PC and health panics have conspired to turn out a nation of people unable to stand up for (or sometimes even look after!) themselves. Sad, really.
“Whatever happened to the stiff upper lip?”
We’re doomed. 🙁
If Daley had complained, it would partially explain their involvement. But it has been made – like the ridiculous John Terry case – by somebody else, not even named.
Daley appears perfectly capable of writing this off and blocking the idiot. The police have caused him embarrassment by making the story far bigger than it otherwise might have been.
