It’s Over… Finally

A couple of years ago, I was staying with my sister and her husband while trying to find work and manage our move back from France, following the collapse of my business. At the time, all I could think about was how awful life had become. The nightmare was only just starting and I needed it to end. Things were looking pretty bleak.

Just over two years later, I have a mix of clients and a prospective one that has decided that they want my services enough to change the job specification to suit me and, today, the cheque finally cleared from the sale of our French house. Okay, so it didn’t last long as I had to make some transfers to clear my debts.

But, yes, work is looking good and I am debt free. The nightmare is finally over and I am feeling pretty good. I pick up the Deauville tomorrow. We can start thinking about living again.

  1. Good news indeed. A shame that France didn’t work out but how wonderful that you’re back on your feet at last.

  2. Well done with the debt freedom. Good luck with the D V too. I said before that it was one of the best instructor ‘s bikes, but on reflection it really has to be the best. Anything else is too big or too chain-driven. Next best is a GS500 fully-faired maybe, but a distant second place at that.

    • I gave serious consideration to a CB or CBF500 – both very nice machines and so easy to ride, but the Deauville came along at the right price and, yeah, no chain.

  3. Good news. You’ve been through a difficult time. I’m not sure I would have chosen a Deauville to celebrate, but each to his own … 😉

  4. A bike of my childhood that always attracted attention was the Douglas Dragonfly.
    350cc shaft-driven flat-twin.

  5. Glad you’re sorted now.

I have had a Deauville NT700 for six years and it is very good. I am in the mood for a change and am currently checking-out an R1100R. I’ll keep the Deau though.
