Simple Answer To That

Farcebook again.

An Anglesey mother has talked over her anger after an internet troll took her son’s picture from her Facebook profile and posted it online with offensive comments.

Problems began after Shiree Nicole Webb expressed her disgust online about photos of dead animals and twisted remarks about children on a free page.

She is unhappy her son’s picture is still in circulation.

Ummm… Firstly, this is not trolling. It is not even close to trolling, so let’s get that one out of the way before we go any further.

Then we can ask Shiree what she was doing using the image as a profile picture. It’s no good complaining about her son’s picture being circulated on the web. She put it there and let every Tom Dick and Harry have access. She has only herself to blame.

That said, I once complained about a picture of mine being stolen. I just went after the host and reminded them about copyright infringement and they did the decent thing.

  1. As you know LR I detest The dreaded FB and you are right it’s her own fault. Facebook is the bane of society along with Twitter and all other Social network sites.
My god what did we all do before Facebook…. had a life. 🙂

    • I’ve long been of the opinion that we are all bound for Hell in a handcart designed by thoughtless American college kids. I don’t indulge, but I’ve seen and heard enough to make me profoundly uneasy about its effect on the next generation of adults.

The best advice I have heard is, “Never put anything on facebook that you wouldn’t be happy to see on the side of a bus tomorrow morning”.

      😉

  2. I find Faceache convenient and time-saving…

I used to hate sending letters to all my friends every time I had a shit…. 😉

  3. Obviously sorry for this woman’s loss but frankly some people are just too stupid to be allowed anywhere computers and the internet. The pollute the rest of the world with thier stupidity.

  4. Hi all yes I am shiree nicole webb And firstly they have it wrong it was not a profile picture it was secured by ‘only me’ so he should not have been able to access this I only share pics with my family who live in diffrent parts of the world, 2nd No my sons name is not tyrone but I ma not willing to give you his name, 3rd it is trolling when you have constant grieve of one person under a fake name and last of all he should not have been able to download my picture……

    • The lesson here is don’t have a Facebook account. The horse may have bolted, but the best thing to do is delete all of your images, remove all personal information and close the account. Facebook cannot be trusted with personal information, which is why I don’t have an account and never will.

3rd it is trolling when you have constant grieve of one person under a fake name…

NO. IT. IS. NOT! Trolling is an entirely different activity and simply repeating the ignorant media’s lies doesn’t make it true.

      • In Internet slang, a troll (/?tro?l/, /?tr?l/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally[3][4] or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[5] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[6]

        • I am never impressed when someone quotes a definition as if this, somehow is a killer argument. I am even less impressed when the quotation used does not support the argument being made. What this person did to you was none of the above. It was bullying, copyright theft and it was certainly bad behaviour. You could even justify calling it harassment and if he kept doing it; stalking. What it was not, was trolling, which is clearly defined in your comment. I suggest you read and inwardly digest before trying to use that argument again. And look at some proper trolling on the internet to see how it is done.
