Uh?

Wibble from Barbara Ellen. I guess she has to find something to say that justifies her cheque, but why don’t more men experiment with man on man sex? Really?

With female sexual fluidity increasing by 400%, that male 1% increase can’t help but look about as fluid as breeze block. Which, considering that this is a survey about sex, just isn’t like men – are they feeling unwell, a little bit shy? Come to think of it, why haven’t One Direction released We Kissed Some Blokes (We Liked It)? Joking apart, it has to be seen as strange that quasi-hetero girl-on-girl action is fast becoming mainstream in a way the male version isn’t.

Probably because for many of us (and certainly for me, at least) the very thought of it turns my stomach. So, no, I’m not even vaguely bi-curious and certainly not interested in sexual tourism as a variation from my heterosexual state. I fancy women. I do not – even slightly – fancy men. Why should I want to experiment?

I’ve seen some tosh in the Groan, but this is right up there with the best of ’em.

  1. XX With female sexual fluidity increasing by 400%, that male 1% increase can’t help but look about as fluid as breeze block. XX

    What?

  2. I haven’t read the article life’s too short, but I’ll bet she doesn’t speculate that this is an illustration of why women are totally unsuited to certain roles. Too easily influenced and susceptible to the monkey see – monkey do syndrome. They are merely following the fad generated by mass media over the last few decades.

  3. There’s something fundamentally different about male and female sexuality – hence why heterosexual men will happily look at lesbian porn, but heterosexual women won’t look at gay male porn.

  4. The conclusion she reaches is that the data show something good about women, and something bad about men. This speaks volumes about her assumptions.
In fact, some folk are apt to reach the same conclusions whatever the data, as though they were a living hockey stick graph.

  5. I was 15 before it was made legal, now this witless woman wants to make it compulsory?

I am extremely secure in my sexuality. I used to share a flat for a few years with a very good friend who I refer to as “The Gay Buddhist” Just him and me and our dog. This was the early 70’s so we used to get some funny reactions and strange remarks. Just to wind people up who came out with those sort of reactions, we used to improvise Julian and Sandy routines (go to You Tube and search for Round the Horne… Julian and Sandy). We were a very good double act.

We talked about life, the universe and everything under the sun, but we never ever thought of each other in any other way but great friends. We still are.
