The French are Revolting

The French people are starting to fight back against Hollande’s progressive polices. Given the misanthropic insanity of this man and his extreme leftwing agenda, and the French attitude towards politicians, I guess the protests are no surprise. Britons tend to be more laid back and accepting of the vile control freaks in the progressive movement who would undermine everything that makes us human. This, though, resonated…

“A block of protest is forming, a rebellion which is anti-elite, anti-state, anti-tax, anti-parliament, anti-press … but also, and above all, anti-Semitic, racist and homophobe.”

I don’t know about anti-semite, racist or homophobe – although that’s entirely possible as any movement will attract some undesirable hangers-on. More likely, though, this is the establishment trying to tarnish their detractors, much as they do here. After all, Ukippers are all fruitloops and closet racists, so the refrain is familiar. But for the rest? Well, that’s a good thing and we could do with some of it this side of La Manche.

There is a bit of me that would like to remind our Gallic cousins that it was they who wanted rid of Sarkozy. Well, you managed that and look what you got…

  1. We don’t get the jackboot parades of goose-stepping automatons these days. It’s all petty state apparatchiks in crappy suits

Well done, LR – one of the few posting on this.

  2. What was it Polly said when Gordon had been in office for some time? Something like “he wasn’t what we expected” IIRC. To which we all retorted, aye, but its exactly what we expected.

Same goes here. The left were rejoicing, especially Miliband and his acolytes, when Hollande was elected but anyone with a bit of a world view could see what was coming and there is no real surprise here. Almost a dog bites man story.

  3. Recently there was a protest in Paris which involved a number of ‘anti-‘ groups. Some were anti-semitic, homophobic… but they were not ‘above all’ they were small groups among much larger more representative, and in fact some opposing, groups… so Lefties marched with Righties, etc.

There is no ‘block’ forming, but there is widespread discontent and at public rallies everyone with a particular axe to grind finds a collective to march along with.

  4. I have quite a lot of respect for the French, especially the down to earth rural people who have a lot less problem than we do about expressing their discontent.

“…anti-elite, anti-state, anti-tax, anti-parliament, anti-press…” Well, colour me stupid if you like, but based on the performance in the UK of the élite, the state, the tax system, parliament and the press, I can’t see what’s not to agree with.

The other points are not my cup of tea though – I’ve never been racist, but I am against having an alien culture foisted upon me – especially when it is given preference over my own culture.

Homophobic? Again, no:- but I don’t want the matter rammed down my throat (to coin a phrase). What someone chooses to do in their own time and in their own bedroom doesn’t bother me: why should I even be aware of someone else’s proclivities, unless it directly affects me?

I just really have an aversion – or even a visceral instinctive antipathy – to those who seek to impose their own viewpoint on me “for my own good or for the common good”.

The sooner we can put such to use as quarry, thereby providing exercise for packs of hounds and hunts, the better.
