The Sultan of Brunei has banned Christmas. Ollie Cromwell got there centuries ago, so nothing new there. The English puritans objected to all that papist idolatry – ignoring that, er, actually, it was pagan idolatry, but what has offended the Sultan?
Brunei introduced its ban on Christmas last year over fears that celebrating it “excessively and openly” could lead its Muslim population astray.
Well, if they are that easily led astray, it isn’t much of a religion, is it? Have they no faith?
And on the general vileness of Islam, it seems that the UAE has been trying to extradite a Briton to face theft charges and failed. Why ever was that?
In district judge Jeremy Coleman’s ruling, which sets a significant precedent, he said: “The trial, treatment and conditions of those accused or convicted of criminal offences in the UAE is still the subject of complaint and is often alleged to fall well below the required standards … Taking into account Mr Halliday’s own circumstances, I cannot be satisfied that he would not be at significant risk.
“The UAE remains adamant that it will not allow prison inspections because the extradition treaty makes such inspections both unnecessary and inappropriate.”
Lawyers for Michael Halliday, 32, who is from the Midlands, had argued that because homosexuality is a crime in Dubai, he would be punished disproportionately.
Well of course. We are talking Sharia here, where rules of evidence do not apply. Where guilt is based upon confessions extorted via torture. Where simply not believing in their stupid god and vile prophet warrants a death sentence. Being homosexual is a far greater offence to these savages than the theft – if indeed, he is guilty of theft; and given the sheer corrupt incompetence of the Sharia system, no one would ever know one way or the other.
What both of these stories tell us, is that Islam and its various leaders are pretty insecure – for if they were comfortable in their faith, they wouldn’t need to use force or threaten people with violence for stepping out of line. A competent, evidence-based legal system that guarantees a fair trial and does not rely on torture would mean that more civilised nations (just about everyone, frankly) would be prepared to extradite citizens accused of crimes – and being prosecuted for being homosexual is, frankly, straight out of the dark ages along with Islam itself.
What I cannot fathom, is why anyone this side of sanity would want to go to these execrable Islamic shitholes in the first place, let alone work and live there?
I disagree with Pastor James McConnell as I do not believe in his spiritual explanation for the origins of the cult of Mohammed, but I fully understand where he is coming from in saying that Islam is “satanic, heathen and spawned in hell”. From a religious perspective this is undoubtedly correct for no beneficent god would choose an utter shite like Mohammed to be his messenger and act as an example to future generations. It is precisely because a significant number of Islam’s adherents are seeking to more closely emulate their prophet that there is so much violence in the world. We really need to be able to have a free and open debate about Mohammed and the cult he invented. Good job we live in a western, liberal democracy where freedom of ideas and speech are cherished. Oh wait:

The judge has an opportunity there. Will he take it?
