Contrary to what the anti racism activists claim, blackface is not racism.

Anyway, it seems that the mayor of Ath was suitably robust.

Mouhad Reghif, a spokesman for the Brussels Panthers, who is leading a campaign against blackface, said he had been expelled from the town on the mayor’s orders after being spotted by the police. He said officers had followed him for 30km on the motorway to make sure he left.

Jolly good. The people of Ath should be able to have their festival without being harassed by so called activists. If people don’t like them indulging in blackface, they can stay away.

All in all, a good result. We need more people like the mayor of Ath who are prepared to stand up to these nasty bullies.

  1. There was a story a few months ago about some imbecile complaining that a picture of some black faced coal miners was racist.

  2. When we had cheese rolling in Stilton, which I hope will resume next year, we often had the Black Mollies dancers who always use blackface. It’s simply a disguise historically. Nothing more. No-one complained and if they did they would be ignored or told to ‘go away’. We are a bit more robust in the countryside regarding idiots.
