A TikTok user has advertised fake Covid-19 vaccination cards for sale for just £5 each in a series of shock video posts.
Every Briton who receives the coronavirus jab will be handed a record card, with messaging on the front urging recipients to ‘make sure’ they keep the note in their ‘purse or wallet’.
They were widely criticised amid a roll-out of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine this week, with many fearing they could create a black market in fakes if pubs, theatres and restaurants demand to see them.
No 10 has denied any plans for a UK ‘vaccination passport’ – but businesses including airline Qantas have already said they will give preferential treatment to anyone who has had a jab and can prove it.
Of course, as has already been mentioned in the comments here, this sets the scene for a more secure version involving photographs and an identity register. That battle I fought for nearly ten years is about to start all over again.
While it is true that this is only a card to remind people to get their second jab, once businesses start demanding to see evidence of a vaccine, then it becomes a de facto freedom pass.
Isn’t a vaccination a medical record? As such, how do businesses think they have a right to know this stuff?
“Ah yes, please come in to our establishment, but first I need to see you don’t have genital herpes/thrush/HIV.”
“You can fucking do one.” Would be the only appropriate answer.

Why would anyone care?
Once the vaccines are available widely. It’s entirely up to the individual whether to get it or not. A pub doesn’t care if you’re vaccinated against mumps or have ever had chicken pox. Why is Covid different?
Why is it different? Media hysteria, frankly.
People have already begun to say face masks might be required in future for other diseases. After all there are lots that are as bad as covid, if not more so …
Some care home owner on the Toady programme on Radio 4 this morning can’t understand how it’s not legal to FORCE someone to have the vaccine! Where the fuck do these people think we live, China?
That does seem to be the model they are following.
