Wokefest

That Cadbury’s advert with the gay kiss has of course stirred up controversy as it was fully intended.

20,000 homophobes sign ridiculous petition over gay kiss in Creme Egg advert

Wrong. There is no such thing as homophobia, just as the other phobias made up by the wokies. A dislike of homosexuality is a natural reaction from those who are heterosexual. Most of us rightly approve of the decriminalisation of homosexuality and are rightly tolerant. But tolerance is not what these people want. They want domination. We must have our noses rubbed in it and must celebrate their overt displays of sexuality. If we don’t, we have a made-up mental illness. Or we are bigots, which is the go-to insult used by these… well, bigots.

Well, no. I refuse. I refuse to play the game and I refuse to be defined by their idiotic labels. And I refuse, absolutely to celebrate displays such as this foul advert.

It seems that I am not alone – quite apart from the signatories of the petition:

The petition reads: “By choosing to feature a same-sex couple, Cadbury’s are clearly hoping to cause controversy and escape criticism, by claiming that any objections must be rooted in ‘homophobia’, but members of the LGBT community have also expressed their dislike of this campaign.

I can’t say that this surprises me. Being gay doesn’t mean being Woke or an activist. Many (most?) simply want to live their lives and keep their sexuality to themselves rather than display it on the television like narcissistic exhibitionists.

“Cadbury’s should not be seeking to hide under cover of LGBT rights to conduct a campaign which sexually objectifies individuals.

“If the couple in question were heterosexual, the advertisement would likely be prohibited, given the sexually explicit and graphic nature of the kiss.

“Cadbury’s are well aware of the religious significance of Easter.

“Therefore, they are trying to cause gratuitous offence to members of the Christian community during the most important feast in their calendar.”

Again, I really can’t argue with this. It typifies the modern approach to identity politics – rubbing our noses in it. Like any heterosexual person, the sight of two men getting intimate makes me gag. This is not a phobia, it is simply a natural aversion.

However, one of these two obnoxious exhibitionists thinks otherwise:

“But it’s not OK, in 2021, to have an advert of a multi-racial (strike one) gay couple (strike two) on your screens for 10 seconds (strike three) eating/kissing/sexualised (strike four).

That’s right, it’s not. Just as if it was a heterosexual couple. And I don’t give a flying one for your identity politics points, so you can stick them where the sun don’t shine.

“Does anyone see how ridiculous this is? Like actual LOL.”

Thick as shit, too. So, Callum, just for you – Do whatever you want in the privacy of your bedroom, but don’t expect the rest of us to like seeing it on our television screens. You and your exhibitionism and victimhood politics are pure stomach churning narcissism.

Just as well that I find Creme eggs as gag inducing as I do the exhibition in this advert.

  1. When I was a child I grew up next door to two of the kindest gentlemen I knew. Being a child, I didn’t know about Gays. When I got older, Mum told me about them and how we really didn’t care because what happened in private was not our concern. As you say, most people want to just get on with their lives, not flaunt it and demand special attention and dispensation not available to others.

  2. To be honest I haven’t seen the advert so I suppose that I’m not qualified to comment. It seems that most straight men find the thought of gay male sex distasteful but find the thought of lesbian sex a turn on. Myself, I’ve become less bothered by such things as I’ve grown more worldly. I don’t see the point of signing a petition, just make a point of buying Nestle chocolate instead of Cadbury. These companies spend a fortune on advertising, it is a massive own goal if all you acheive is to increase the sales of your competitors.

In related news, Gillette have decided that being a man is all about being a loving father. Gillette are also now offering Harry’s style shaving plans.

  3. I signed the petition, I guess I must be a hater of homos then. So be it. Perhaps signing the petition in itself was an act of hate crime.

  4. I suspect Cadbury’s have quite rationally decided this provocative advert would generate lots of headlines and therefore publicity. No such thing as bad….

So it behoves us to prove the contrary. Stop buying any Cadbury’s products. Atleast until they cease & retract this deliberate abuse.

  5. I have long abandoned Cadburys .In the UK I bought Choceur chocolate from Aldi and now in New Zealand I buy Whittakers .Both brands are free from Palm Oil and taste like chocolate should.Lets hope that the consequent fall in sales makes Cadbury think again.

  6. Curiously enough I cant find the petition. I can find endless articles decrying the petition as homophobic and “religious” and a petition not to ban the advert but to promote it instead

    Does this petition actually exist?
