Fer Cryin’ Out Loud

Clearly proper crime has been solved in Norwich.

A police investigation has been launched after a pick-up truck was spotted with a ‘vile’ image of a kidnapped woman on its tail gate.

Motorists did a double take and were horrified to see the artwork portraying an apparently abducted blonde woman lying down while tied up in the rear of the vehicle.

The vehicle was reported to police after being spotted at traffic lights on the junction of the A47 and A146 roads at Trowse, near Norwich, Norfolk.

Norfolk Police say the incident is being investigated as a potential hate crime.

A spokesperson for the force said: ‘A woman reported seeing a blue pick-up truck with vinyl printed on the back of the truck showing a woman being tied up, blindfolded, bound as if being kidnapped. Enquiries are ongoing.’

Another day another snowflake. What is the matter with these people? It’s obviously a graphic and not a real woman, so no crime has been committed. Tasteless humour is not yet a crime. Who is being hated here? And this kind of insanity is precisely why the concept of hate crime is so wrong. It enables the offended to engage the police in their vendettas against those who dare to offend them.

As for the police, I despair. The appropriate answer is to tell the complainant to grow up and leave the adults alone.

The picture of the truck created outrage…

Ah, yes, outrage. We are going to run out of outrage at this rate. It’s a silly picture on the back of a truck, I really wouldn’t waste any outrage over it.

Other Facebook users left messages condemning the image as ‘horrifying’ and ‘vile’.

One said: ‘I have never before seen anything like this on a vehicle. Am shocked.

God help us if this person  has to face something that is actually shocking as opposed to an image on a truck. Sheesh!

  1. Yes I thought that the image was in bad taste, that would lead me to think that the driver of the pickup was a bit of a sick character. But calling the police on him, really? Also, I prefer to keep my interactions with the police to an absolute minimum, I just don’t trust them at all.

  2. I saw a pic of an an Iveco van a few days ago. Someone had written in the dirt ‘Mass’ before the makers logo and ‘ck’ after it.

Surely this must be worthy of hours of investigation by plod?
