Circular Arguments

Jennifer Aniston proves why we should not listen to celebrities on anything.

Earlier this week, the Friends actress said she had “lost a few people from [her] weekly routine” who had decided against having a Covid jab.

Some of her Instagram followers have since asked why she was so worried, given that she had been vaccinated.

“Because if you have the variant, you are still able to give it to me,” she posted on Thursday.

“I may get slightly sick but I will not be admitted to a hospital and or die.

“But I can give it to someone else who does not have the vaccine and whose health is compromised (or has a previous existing condition) – and therefore I would put their lives at risk.”

FFS! If someone has chosen not to take the vaccine, they have voluntarily accepted the risks that go with it, hence it doesn’t matter if they haven’t been vaccinated as it is not her problem. The woman is a cretin and she has just given us a circular argument that makes no sense whatsoever. And if she is prepared to cut off friends over something so utterly trivial, then she wasn’t much of a friend in the first place.

One of my friends got a bit sniffy with me over it, but our forty year friendship remains in place. She doesn’t like it very much and tried to persuade me but beyond that, we just leave the subject alone. She has taken her path and I have taken mine.

In her interview with InStyle, published on Tuesday, Aniston said: “There’s still a large group of people who are anti-vaxxers or just don’t listen to the facts. It’s a real shame.

More propaganda. I am not anti-vax. I am in favour of vaccination as a principle as are most of those I talk to who have declined this one. But never mind, let’s go with the cheap and inaccurate labeling shall we? It saves having to actually think about the issue and look at things like facts, logic, reason and evidence – or even consider “my body, my choice.”

“I’ve just lost a few people in my weekly routine who have refused or did not disclose [whether or not they had been vaccinated], and it was unfortunate. I feel it’s your moral and professional obligation to inform, since we’re not all podded up and being tested every single day.”

Fuck off. Seriously, fuck off. No one has any obligation whatsoever to disclose medical records. It is none of your damned business whether people have been vaccinated or not and declining to tell you is not a moral issue. If they choose not to disclose, that is their absolute right and you have no business expecting such disclosure. Medical records are private and confidential. Frankly, they are better off without you in their lives.

She added: “It’s tricky because everyone is entitled to their own opinion – but a lot of opinions don’t feel based in anything except fear or propaganda.”

Indeed, peddled by halfwits like you.

  1. Lucky escape for those ex people being lost eh.
A bloody sight better of they are without her in their lives.

Dunno why these conformist zealots think hopefully the aparthied system will justly punish us refuseniks, haven’t they twigged yet we’re better off without them, and we don’t have to feel guilty for dumping them.

  2. The Covid vaccines are different from conventional vaccines. Those conventional vaccines are pretty close to 100% effective and are proven to be safe. Covid vaccines are only partially effective and have no long term data on how safe they are. These simple facts demonstrate the stark difference between anti vaxers and those who have reservations about Covid vaccines. These differences are not remotely difficult to understand. I’m fascinated by the contrast between the dim witted people that surround me and the people who designed and produced my sports watch.

  3. ‘I’m a liberal luvvie. I love everyone, I adore diversity and everyone should be free to be themselves’. Except when those people disagree with me and then they must be shut out / shut up / ostracised.
My mate is a few years older than me, has chosen not to get the jab but annually gets the flu shot and was going to do the same this year. Talking last night, I mentioned the bastards might ‘improve’ this years flu vax by adding the covid to it. Without bothering to tell anyone of course.

    • Indeed, among the texts pestering me in vain to attend for my experimental jab, was one to attend for a pneumonia jab, no doubt the flu vax text will be along soon.

  4. Celebrity worship is ridiculous. Just because somebody is good at singing or acting or playing some sport, it does not mean they are experts in everything. Their opinions are not in any way more important than that of the average person. Yet the media keeps giving them a platform.

  5. FFS! If someone has chosen not to take the vaccine, they have voluntarily accepted the risks that go with it, hence it doesn’t matter if they haven’t been vaccinated as it is not her problem.

Well it kinda does if they want to come around to your house for a cuppa and possibly infect you…

    • Still with the moronic propaganda. If you cannot follow an argument and just keep spunking out the idiotic soundbites, please don’t bother. I’ve answered this twattery in the main post and have done so numerous times before.

  6. One suspects that this is not ‘friends’ in the dictionary sense, this is actually code for ‘Little people who work for me and who I’ve thrown on the scrap heap because they don’t agree with me’.

  7. “I haven’t been in the media recently, so I must make a public gesture to show how Mother Theresa-ish I am.”
Aniston is an attractive woman who became famous as part of an ensemble cast. Once the series ended, and they went their separate ways, can anyone name a film or play in which one, or more, of them appeared, which is worth seeing twice (David Schwimmer’s appearances in a series of adverts does not count).
Shakespeare, allegedly, wrote, “To vax, or not to vax? That is the question”, to which Malvolio, allegedly replied, ” Who gives a shit?”

  8. David Schwimmer played Captain Herbert Sobell in Band of Brothers. A short role, but worthwhile.

  9. Apart from her apparent stupidity and weakness for propaganda, I always keep in mind one important aspect of pontificating slebs. Actors earn their crust by doing what they’re told; then, if they do it wrong, they’re told to do it again until it’s right. Little or no intelligence is required.

  10. When did it all start? I mean celebs deciding that being good at one thing (even if all it is is dressing up and pretending to be someone else) means they are so superior to all of us in every regard that they can preach and we must listen? (cf Megan and Harry).
If only people had the courage to call them out on this.
