Renegade Update

I have now finished my final edit for this book. It’s been though at least two previously by me, one by a beta reader and three by Leggy and still I was picking up odd repeated phrases (one of my main failings, I’m afraid), awkward structure, mistypes and just vague sentences. Enough at least to jar with me. Also, because the story takes place during the period when King William III died and was succeeded by Anne, I found that I had on one occasion used the word ‘king’ when it should have been ‘queen’ and we all missed it.

Still, there comes a point when you have to let go or you will be fiddling about forever. It’s back to Leggy now for him to complete the final formatting then we can size up the cover art and get this one done.

  1. Writing is apparently like every other art form. There comes a time when you have to say “that’s it” and stop fiddling with details. Otherwise you’ll need a rubber room of your very own

  2. Repeated phrases? Nothing wrong with that – Homer used them all the time in the Iliad and as far as I know he’s not been criticised for it in about three thousand years…. 🙂
