Eighteen Years

Where did eighteen years go? 23rd October 2004 was the day I started this place. I thought at the time that it would be a transient thing, gone and forgotten before long. Yet here it is, still here. In that time, I’ve seen others come and go and blogging go from the latest fashion to something of a backwater. Gone are the days when I’d have every grifter trying to get in on the act with spurious offers to use my writing for a bit of instant fame or attempts to get guest posts to peddle their links. Even the spammers and trolls have pretty much given up. Guess I must have staying power or something.

    • I’ll second that, Julia.

It is terrifying, how fast the last twenty years or so seem to have gone though, isn’t it? The other day posting a comment over at ComWom, I double checked that the last General Election was indeed in 2019, and still said that it was only a year ago.

  1. Happy blogging birthday LR, and here’s to many more; this world needs more sane voices like yours!

  2. Congratulations. Not a motor cyclist, and I don’t always agree with your viewpoint, but this is one of the first blogs I read. You put your views succinctly, intelligently, and logical. Here’s to many more.
