Gaslighting has become a much used term these past few years and with good reason. We are repeatedly being pressured into denying reality. Ed Davey is doing it here.
Asked by caller Mary whether he could name what a woman is, Sir Ed said: “The truth is, Mary, the vast majority of people whose biological sex is a woman when they were birthed – they feel they’re women.
“They feel they’re gendered the same as at birth but there is a very small number of people who don’t feel like that, and the law has recognised them for over 20 years now.”
He added: “There’s a small number of people who, actually, they have a tough time. They’re harassed, they’re discriminated against; real, serious mental health issues, and I think we need to debate this…with a bit more maturity and a bit more compassion.”
Pressed further by LBC’s Nick Ferrari on whether women can in fact have a penis, Sir Ed responded: “Quite clearly.”
No. Women do not quite clearly have a penis. This is an outright lie. No woman has a penis. People who have penises are men. Every mammal on this planet is capable of recognising the difference between male and female, but it takes a special kind of mendacious stupidity to deny this obvious, demonstrable truth. Ed Davey is a liar. Ed Davey is trying to gaslight us. Ed Davey has no place in public life.

He didn’t lie about one thing, at least….
The follow up question should be, “If a convicted rapist with a penis who has had no gender surgery says that they are a woman. Should they be put in a woman’s prison? If not how would you stop that from happening?”
I consider there is a case for men who wish to be women to be allowed access to female only spaces… but only after adopting a suitable hormone regime and completing gender reassignment surgery. That should deter the opportunists and the pervs somewhat.
