The Light Is On At The Signpost by George Macdonald Fraser is a very good read, and indeed the signpost in the title is referencing the TT.
A lot of things are described as “extreme sports”, but the TT genuinely deserves that description. Incredible danger and incredible skill, with the competitors risking everything to be the best.
