Refugees?

So another boat has capsized killing its occupants.

Dozens of migrants are missing and presumed dead after their boat sank off Libya’s coast, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has said, in the latest migrant tragedy off north Africa.

The 61 people are believed to have died because of high waves which swamped their vessel after it left from Zuwara, on Libya’s north-west coast, the IOM’s Libya office said in a statement on Saturday.

It said there were about 86 migrants aboard, citing survivors.

IOM said the vessel had departed from the shores of Zuwara during the night between December 13 and 14.

I’m sure that the usual suspects will find a way to blame us for this. However, the blame lies squarely with the smugglers who are making money from this trade.

In the latest incident most of the victims – who included women and children – were from Nigeria, the Gambia and other African countries, the IOM office said, adding that 25 people had been rescued and transferred to a Libyan detention centre.

So, economic migrants and not refugees. People who have no right to enter this country – or any other European country.

  1. – who included women and children –

Strangely we do not hear of them crossing the channel. Do they stop in Europe?

    • I fear those military aged young men are coming to Blighty for another purpose entirely, wives and children don’t feature.

  2. Invaders do not take their wives and family with them when they invade. They only get them to join them when they’ve won, which means within the next two years, the boats will be filled with women and children, destabilising this country even more.
