This is where it is spent.
This is the moment the son of a nanny bludgeoned to death by Lord Lucan confronts an ‘Old Etonian’ who is accused of being the missing British peer.
BBC cameras followed Neil Berriman – the son of murdered Lucan nanny Sandra Rivett – as he tracked down the man he believed to be the missing aristocrat, now living in Australia.
Mr Berriman accused ‘Old Etonian’ Christopher Bell, 87, of being Lucan and of having killed his mother on November 7, 1974, before going on the run for decades.
What follows is not a documentary. It is the obsessive pursuit by a very strange individual of an old man who is very much not Lord Lucan. There is a passing resemblance in the faces, but not enough to make such a damning accusation. As such, the accusations are libellous, yet the Beeb is going to put this scurrilous nonsense on air and call it a documentary. I’m glad I don’t pay for this codswallop.
At one point Mr Berriman, 57, is convinced his suspicions have been confirmed by artificial intelligence facial recognition technology which matches Mr Bell’s features to those of Lord Lucan.
Oh, well, AI, it must be true.
But analysis by a Home Office-approved team of recognition experts ruled him out in 2022.
Yet the BBC is enabling the bullying of him by this crackpot anyway.
Well, hold on – is that the same Home Office recognition experts that can’t seem to figure out that the 6ft bearded boat person claiming refugee status isn’t a 12 year old?
He identifies as a 12 year old, That should be good enough for anybody.
There surely must be some DNA evidence of Lucan – perhaps old clothes or whatever – or a living relative who could provide a sample.
Test against the “accused” and either some genuine TV or the licence dupes (not I) getting a big libel bill.
But marxists do what marxist do I suppose.
Why should he agree to their request? I’d tell them to fuck off.
“You are Lord Lucan and I claim my five pounds”.
I recall a BBC film of police raiding a well known celebrity’s home. The BBC had to pay a lot of license payers’ money to settle the subsequent court case.
They don’t learn do they? At least not as long as they don’t pay with their own money.
