Logical Somersaults

Via the Devil’s Kitchen, I can’t quite make out whether this is a clever troll or a witless fruitcake…

I have asked the Netherlands Interior Ministry to censor the website of the United Kingdom Libertarian Party, www.lpuk.org, and the party’s blog at lpuk.blogspot.com. The website is registered to the party’s leader Patrick Vessey. The censorship is partial: I asked the ministry to add the sites to the national police blacklist. That means they would be blocked by several providers, including the largest in the Netherlands. The procedure and the background are explained in two previous posts:

The request is based on the central defects of libertarianism, which it got from its parent ideology liberalism. Primarily, the claim of absolute truth and universal validity for their own values, and the conviction that they are morally entitled to enforce these on others, against their will, and by force if necessary.

Difficult to tell. On the one hand, the perverse “freedom is slavery” type logic is, indeed, the kind of nonsense spouted by socialists on a fairly regular basis. In this case, libertarianism = force; which as any fule kno is its inverse. This deliberate misrepresentation of libertarian philosophy is fairly typical of the socialist fuckwit and is regularly trotted out as an “absolute truth”. All that said; even after the evidence of the idiocy of Neil Harding, our very own socialist misanthrope; having read all of Paul’s post, I find it difficult to believe that anyone who hasn’t got fried synapses could actually bring themselves to believe such drivel without their brain imploding under the weight of the plethora of contradictions. So, I’m going for clever drivel and “Paul” is having a laugh… DK on the other hand is going for the “insane” option.

Either way, I’m a thousand miles from home and sitting in a hotel room, so a quiet chuckle cheered me up no end.

  1. It’s the same twattish arguments as for ID cards.

But putting aside the ‘civil liberties’ argument, it won’t even work on a technical level, it can’t possibly, exactly because the real bad ‘uns will use fake names etc or use ever changing code words. And isn’t there that thing about intercept evidence not being used in court?
