Nadine Dorries’ Blog Taken Down

I don’t often find myself in agreement with Nadine Dorries, and I find her recent comments regarding MPs’ expenses somewhat disproportionate, but I do find allegations that her blog has been taken off-line at the behest of the Telegraph disturbing – very disturbing.

Clearly the Barclay brothers believe in freedom of speech for the Telegraph, but not those who presume to disagree with them, eh? The allegations made against them are hardly defamation – indeed, if as Dizzy says they are mere moonbattery, surely the appropriate response is to shrug it off. Suppressing it gives the allegation credence – and censorship by the powerful is something that we should always resist.

This, then, is a lesson to us all…

Host outside the UK. Perhaps Ms Dorries will take notice and shift to a host that has some balls; preferably one in the USA, such as this one is.

In the meantime, here is the cache for Nadine Dorries’ blog (and should that disappear too, I’ve secreted a copy for future reference).

  1. And what about the fact that she never approved any comments critical of her rants?

I’m voting BNP, down with the crooks.

  2. Good on you – I hope other bloggers pick this up as a cause. These legal threats are intimidation pure and simple. But it didn’t work when Usmanov tried it with the Arsenal fans and I hope it doesn’t work for the Barclays either.

  3. And what about the fact that she never approved any comments critical of her rants?

She can do as she pleases on her blog. There is a clear difference between moderating one’s own personal property and being shut down by an outside agency because you say something of which they disapprove. I would have thought the difference obvious – but obviously not…

  4. Let her put up a blog on blogspot or whatever. She is digging her own grave. She is neurotic, erratic and turning insane.

  5. That’s as may be, but I defend absolutely her right to dig it. Just as I defend your right to state that you want to vote for a bunch of politically illiterate fascists.

  6. Loony as she is, her insanity is much, much less than the Extremely Dangerous Barclay Brothers.

  7. And I thought she closed her blog because of the news that David Van Day, (I’m a celebrity; get me out of here) is standing against her.

Bucks Fizz anyone? – Gosh Nadine has made a lot of DOLLARS!
